There will never be another time in music as exciting as the period from '64 thru '66. I have tried to capture that in this song I wrote a few years back. I am grateful as always to Jeff Olmsted for his fine work on the tracks and you can't get much better than former Critter, Four Season & Shondell Don Ciccone on vocals. Special thanks to Janet Baker for her assistance in the making of this video. From my CD "He's An Old Cat" available here

@pannoni1 I'd add 1963! Be My Baby, My Boyfriend's Back, So In Love, Easier Said Than Done, Surfer Girl, Candy Girl. I could go on. Alas...where DID the music go?

Dandy dan was doing a remote broadcast from a shopping mall in 1981 in new jersey the day of the blizzard when people were abandoning cars on overpasses he was on wyny fm then a soft rock station that became a country station he was doing country with them too.

I'd extend the exciting music period to '69 however.

Including this gem, I've listened to and am familiar with 78 Brian Gari songs. Apparently, "A Hard Time To Be Single" is not yet one of them -- yet. So this piece is new to me and I am unable to recall its previous form as do other posters. Guess I'm still a novice fan. Also, that Don Ciccone is on vocals serves to deepen its meaning. This is an intensely cathartic song for me.

I remember that song! Great job, Brian. Wonderful to hear Don sing, as well.

Brian, Don & Janet - Groovy. A great Brian Gari tune gets a brand new life. Makes me want to play my 45s. - DE

My feelings exactly, Brian! I remember listening to WMCA as "Dandy" Dan Daniel counted down the new Top 25 every Wednesday between 4 and 7 p.m., "holding my breath to see what's number one." My favorite songwriter has written another marvelous song, this one recalling, of all things, my very, very, very favorite era of music! It doesn't get any better than this ... that is, until I hear your next one.
