Society's Child is an amazing song for several reasons: Janis wrote this song when she was 13. For it's time, it dealt with a sensitive and often taboo subject (interracial relationships) during the 60s. The lyrics are powerful, especially considering Janis' age when she wrote it. And, the chord progression is perfectly suited to the lyrics. A song that had a strong social impact that still reasonates today.

Bravo!!!- Thank you Janis- A shein Midalo
Janis Ian is an American Treasure, her music and lyric content are timeless and compelling, a spectacularly human voice cutting through the radio ga ga and cookie cutter music pablum offered today. Listen and learn, from the soul and talent of an artist.

Janis Ian is not just a great singer and songwriter. She is also an interesting poet for want of a better word. :) I say that after just now having finished reading "Who Really Cares". Her talents have only grown with the years. The same can be said of her beauty inside and out. It has increased over time & I am thankful to her & her music for many hours of pleasure. She truly is Society's Child and society should fully appreciate her. Thanks for your support of Vilnius Jewish Library!
