  • @jpltim Ok, but (I know this is probably a stupid question) how do you open Disk Management?

  • @Rocksteady72a Right mouse click on the Computer icon on your desktop, then click on Manage. Then select Disk management undet the Storage area on the left frame.

  • Quick question: I want to use this to sync a folder to my USB. It is located in the G drive, but sometimes when I plug in other devices when the USB isn't there, they take the G drive as well. What keeps sync toy from copying the folders to the other device in G instead of the USB when the USB isn't there?

  • @Rocksteady72a Use a higher letter by changing it in Disk Management or get a utility like USB Letter Manager.

  • It can sync between PCs.

  • \\YOURSERVERNAME\Users is the standard for mapping a Windows Home Server drive. You also map the other Shares such as \\YOURSERVERNAME\Videos etc.

  • @jpltim I see that it sync from left to right, but what about vs versa? I want to my computer to sync both ways, this only seem that it sync file from one computer to another. What should I uses to get files to match on both computers?

  • probably the stupidest program EVER. can just copy paste it! lolX100

  • Excellent video!

Instructions are clear and concise, just exactly the kind of detail I am looking for on a You Tube reference video. Have added you to my favourites.

A note for Windows 7 users which some of you MAY have to do in order to get Synctool to install: I am using Windows 7 so you needed to install X86 version os SyncTool 2.1 to get it working.

You MAY need to enable Framework 3.5 within Control Panel - Programs - Turn Windows Features Off & On and enable 3.5.1 is selected.

  • this might be a dumb question but how did you know to type in hpserver\users? im guessing its different for each platform.
