Arthur Hull's Annual Drum Circle - NAMM 2009

The annual NAMM Drumcircle. sponsored by REMO, is free and open to all and is a fixture on Friday night at 5:45pm outside the Convention Center, so put it on your calendar for next year.

Arthur Hull, the father of the modern drum circle movement and an all-round great guy, has been hosting and facilitating this amazing drum circle and if you've never experienced a facilitated drum circle you owe it to yourself to give it a go. A few years ago Stevie Wonder joined in and there are usually lots of great musicians in the crowd, like Paulo Mattioli & Leon Mobley...considering it's NAMM, what else would you expect?

NAMM is usually held on the 2nd or 3rd weekend of January. Since 1999 NAMM has been at the Anaheim Convention Center. Before 1999 NAMM took over the LA Con Cntr. Beginning in 2010 rumor has it that NAMM returns to the LA Con Cntr again.

what convention center was this at (what city)? I would love to see him perform in D.C. or Maryland. He's off the chain. The first time I saw Mr. Hull was in a video with Baba Olatunji "Flirtation Dance" - OFF THE CHAIN!!!!!!

The annual winter NAMM Show takes place at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California.

This Drum Circle is always on a Friday (in 2010 the date for the drum circle will be 1/15/2010), around 5:30pm, and is set up outside the convention center so you don't need a badge to participate. It's free for everyone and open to the public.

I used to drum with Arthur Hull when I lived in Santa Cruz, California back in the 80's. Then I moved back to the East Coast after the big Earthquake in 1989.

Now I only see him when he travels to the DC area to do one of his drum clinics.

I missed the good old days!!!

That's a lot of people playing together under the conducting of Arthur Hull. Many of the REMO drum players come out to support this corporate drum circle. Arthur is the best drumming conductor!
