i'm literally crying as i am typing this...... what an abscene amount of ignorance for his mother to have tortured her son to commit suicide... it twists my heart. let this be a lesson to all of you guys....... accept your offspring for who they are.... a soul NEVER changes! r.i.p. bobby and all others who have suffered like him.

Bobby did not commit suicide. He's murdered by the ignorance of a barbaric church. While China is often condemned for its totalitarianism (which is not to a very large extend), I'll hv to say to the world: U think that China's bad? Let me tell u: it doesn't happen even in China!

Yes this is a sad story...but its a story, I argue of HOPE

the transformation of Bobby's Mother and surrounding family is extraordinary

Yes they lost a son and brother....but by re-telling this story...Bobby has saved thousands of lives

The United States of America was a very homophobic place under Reagan

Being gay in American Suburbia especially with Christian Parents was very hard for many.

I realize it must be hard for some who were born in the late 1980's or 1990's to understand and how Homophobic America was...and in some parts still is today.But at least Gay Teens have the internet today if feeling depressed and can seek help.
