Long-running series 'The Bill', as it was in 1984--a police procedural, before the series became an occupational soap opera. Closing scene from the first series episode 'Long Odds', with Sergeant Bob Cryer (Eric Richard) and DI Galloway (John Salthouse) in the pub. Cryer delivers the line 'Why don't you stuff your job right up your arse?' with just the right amount of pathos; most of us would probably share his sentiment :D
