Yes it seems like that to me also, but the indicator above the doors is original, but the they maintained it by replacing the bulbs in it, but your right indeed.
amazing that this is an original Macy*s, since it opened in 1956 AS macy*s, rare find since most original macys in the nyc area were moved to former a/s, stern's, and bamberger's, and the original macys were torn down. Also, Jon, does this macys still have the circa-1956 signage on the exterior?
also, the elevator at one of my Macy*s is from 1955, the Westinghouse one in Garden State Plaza. Also, The Macy*s elevator at Paramus Park is from 1971

That's interesting how the indicator is still original, and what would really make it last forever would be using LED light bulbs.
