@StephenB58 you are an idiot, 400 heads are not wider , they are the same size, people like you who no nothing about anything should not be posting lies because someone might think you know what you are talking about and that would be a big mistake. stick to your hot wheel toys, chevy boy !

they were 375 hp stock and under rated for insurance purpose's,so 400hp with a stock modern profile cam could do it easy...

@Elcamino1980BBC He gives valve spring recommendations, so you can buy what you need. He just doesn't tell the voodoo behind the cam. Odd, but it's his business I guess. Would not have run it, if it didn't come highly recommended from people I trust. Are you building a 440?
-
@R669charger mmm thats kinda bad i say! gota know if you have to change Valve Springs and gota know if you have to run a higher stall! But when it comes to manual Transmissions you dont have to worriey about that! But not everyone going to run a Manual

@Elcamino1980BBC Mr. Sixpack won't give the specs. It's top secret. LOL. However, it comes highly recommended for a iron headed, cast iron intake engine with exhaust manifolds, so I thought I'd try it. Haven't driven it much, so can't really comment at this point. Car is currently 11:25:1 compression.

@R669charger thats what i though! So whats the specs on the new cam? and what Compression are you running? 10:1 or higher?

@Elcamino1980BBC The video is from 4 years ago. I just installed the cam, and actually rebuilt the engine a couple of months ago. I plan on taking it to the dyno late spring or early summer, so no hp/tq numbers yet. You can hear it run with the new cam in one of the other videos I have posted. I only have one video with the new cam, and it's just idling, so all other videos are the old engine.

@R669charger Do you know what the hp/tq is now with that new cam your running now or is it that cam your running in this Video now??
yeah i guess its his business! No i'm a Big Block chevy Fan more then Mopar but i have a friend that has a 1969 440 thats bored .030 over with a .460/.470 lift he says its the 440 cam that makes 390hp and he has Alumin intake, 906 heads, compression is 10.1:1 hes got it in a 1976 Cordoba and he keeps trying to say he can beat my 454 with it lol and i keep telling him to to bring it lol haha

@Elcamino1980BBC LOL, well the proof is in the pudding. Tell him to prove it. Of course, there's much more to racing than the HP of an engine. If it won't hook or doesn't have the right gear, you're done. That is not the 390HP cam by the way. They were more like .450 intake and .464 exhaust. Sounds like a nice engine, those cars are heavy. 4K lbs I think is curb weight.

@R669charger He was wrong on the camshaft that he has 0.465 int./0.488 exh lift 224 int./234 exh.Dur at .050 and Adv Dur is 282 int./292 exh. exh., and his 906 head is upgraded with 2.19/1.70 Valve and hes running the 727 transmission and 3.91 gears
I run a 1980 El Camino SS with a 454ho,th400, Tubed out,9 inch ford, 4.57 gears lol still toying with it and hoping this year i'm much much faster then last year lol, I have some Videos on profile of it check it out
