  • I remember Killer Instinct. I had it for the Game Boy. Werewolf was my character.

I love the irony in your name. New Gen Gamers, "Gen" as in generation. But you're reviewing old games. I'm not saying it's bad to look back at the great games, I just think it's ironic.

  • We do a wide range of stuff, this just happens to be our current kick. Plus a lot of established reviewers have only been gaming since the PS1, PS2 era. Most of the members of New Gen Gamers have been gaming since the NES era. Just think of this as a way for us to establish our gaming history, and a full featured retrospective. I haven't seen many if any full docsa on this subject. - Ray

  • If you don't mind me asking what program do you use to edit your videos?

  • We mix it up, Studio 9 to get a high quality capture of the video and audio. Then we run it through Windows Movie Maker to compress it to youtube acceptable size.

  • Ahhh smart. I use Sony Vegas 8 Pro and I still suck at editing. I've actually been trying to get lessons from my friend.

  • Sony Vegas and Adobe Premier are really advanced, but can do amazing things. The basic functions are the same for all editing software so maybe try learning using windows movie maker before moving onto more advanced programs. I personally really like the Pinnacle Studio because it is very simple to learn and use, and offers mediate to advanced features as well. We're pretty much figuring it out as we go so our production continues to get better as we do more videos. -Ron

  • I've become light headed several times from blowing those cartridges. Usually someone else's breath works better for some reason. Did those cartridge cleaners ever work?

  • @Alevamltd Genesis's primary soundchip had six channels for FM synth at the most, or it could use the last one for samples (making it 5 and 1). The other four channels associated with the PSG (a carryover from the Master System) were rarely used in Genesis music.

  • @darkhawk1979

Actually the MD/Gen had 10 sound channels in comparison to the 8 sound channels on the SNES

the MD/Gen's processor was also 32 bit on a 16 bit data bus

I've also noticed that the MD has more bass in it's sound

Dont get me wrong, I think the SNES is a great system

But I'll always prefer the MD/Gen

  • The audio chip in the SNES was far superior to the Megadrive, those Megadrive games with voice were exclusives and depended on the size of the ROM, not the quality of the hardware. The only technical superiority the MD had was the clock speed (ie Blast Processing lol), but this was bottlenecked by having only half the RAM. Technically, the SNES shat all over the MD.

  • During that escape sequence, you can find the little aliens that helped you throughout the game. They're trapped in a room, and you can save them before the planet explodes.

  • KI was all flash, really.

  • They are well used

  • I got KI for a few british pounds off ebay.
