One of the scenes from "School Daze" Madame Re-Re's Salon is where the "Jiggaboo's" and "Wannabee's" battle as they sing and dance.

I dunno I think the 90s is the best example of black culture. If you go back to the 90s there were way more progressive shows with black cast and films that didn't stereotype us. Today everything is stereotyped and the only blacks we get are by Tyler Perry who stereotypes the most. i wouldn't mind another film like this by Spice Lee but i kind of want it to be set in 90s though to give back that old 90s feel of when Black people & Hollywood actually cared about how they were represented.

Regardless if she's half Portuguese, that isn't the point of my comment or the film. I was simply saying that the person who felt the wannabes were prettier was because of their skin complexion. Also, although Jasmine Guy is biracial and acknowledges this, she identifies as Black. Being light-skinned doesn't mean you're biracial. I'm not and neither is Tisha Campbell (who's a wannabe in the film).

Medeah is a character, and his empire was built off her. I don't think Tyler even intended to make "her" to be an empowerment character for Black women. Medeah is a old southern women, why would she not be racist towards whites?

He's already branch out of the Medeah themes and has made movies without that character. One thing I do notice about Tyler movies is that it's always about redemption, and there's also some hidden life theme going on.

No he's not. He is not a good film director and is a bad actor. Medeah is supposedly a female empowerment charcter for Black women but all she does is bad things (how many times has this character got in trouble with the law) and is racist against white women and is a angry black woman stereotype. All his films are Buffoonery and I'm sick of him being praised for just being a Black director. His one audience is bitter Black women.
