PN activist from Senglea, Michael Woods, former canvasser of Lawrence Gonzi and one of the PN's hard-liners in the eighties had said that he does not recognise the party in which he militated in since he was born. Words which resonate those by former PN Minister John Dalli in an outburst during a PN General Council just two years ago

Another former PN "militant" Frank Portelli a few months ago had gone all out denouncing the government and alleging corruption on Mater Dei.
Similarly, another PN star in the eighties, a candidate and Member of Parliament for several years, Josie Muscat chose to defect from the current Nationalist Party administration because he believes this country needs to change the way it is managed. His hard-line far right wing ideology is appealing to the Nationalist Party supporters.
