Yeah mate, done that, it only lags during game play on the slave, and itll do it no matter which machines are slave, we played with 3 PCs last night, had no worse issues, usually the last machine in the ring would be the one with the lag or judder issues, but all in all, it actually ran quite well. Again, SRC had the worst issue, Daytona only had the juddering player car on the slaves

Would be good wouldnt it, but its a socket 939, i built it 4 years ago or so

Default WinXP and Vista reserve 20% of lan bandwidth for error control (older IPX...), but is not required under TCP/IP protocol incorporates error detection...
I mean that you may need a more powerful CPU for example a upgrade for dual core X2 or Phenom in your AMD machine in some cases (check OverREV)

How can i change the amount of CPU time given to the network protocol? The issue occurs the same on both the AMD64 and the i7 INTeL with 6 gigs of ram, its a gigabit ethernet connection using a direct cable with no switch (the ASUS mobo on the i7 has a switch built in)

The flickering on purple cars appears more when the player car are at high speed, I see this is a lag sync problem, in other online plays with more lag distance the purple cars present a more intense flickering effect. If you have a WiFi LAN try it with direct LAN cable.
If only have problem on slave machine, the network protocol need a extra CPU cycles you check in this computer the fps (press F9 and Crtl + F9) the emulator run fine at 58fps, and see if your CPU not used at 100% --->
You see that slight flickering issue you have there? Do you have any idea what causes that yet? I have this issue if i play .9 on LAN, the same as you see it there, and only on the SLAVE machines. Sega Rally does something simular but much worse, cause it slows the whole game down on the SLAVEs. I doubt the computer is to blame, its doing this on an i7 with 6 gigs of DDR3, and a 9800GT video card. My AMD64 will eat it no worries with single core and 9600GT, until its the SLAVE. Thanks blokes ;)

Sega Rally is even more demanding with the connection, and v0.9 could have extra trouble in the emulation of this game, no is perfect.
Remember the original Model 2 Arcade Machine used a fibre optical ring connection, no is designed to play over LAN

Yeah i tried with .8 as well and it was about the same, tried a few different things. Seems to be fine for the first race or 2, then by the 3rd race the slave will start to see some judder and slow down, although Daytona is still smooth, only the cars judder, the track also judders in SRC. Should the vsync be on or off? Seems like the slave machine is very slowly losing sync with the master. Thanks very much for your help mate ;)

To rule out LAN lag problems, you try link 2 or more emulators at same time in your i7 computer, and you see if really a lag problem or only a normal mistake of emulator, ElSemi hard work on the emulator but many parts are little or no documentation available and it is logical to think that there are small errors
