This is a hidden "level" within the Jaleco game Rival Turf!. The game is the localized version of the first game in the Rushing Beat series. Jaleco cut a lot of material from the first Rushing Beat game, including the intro. When a save state of the intro to Rushing Beat is loaded in Rival Turf! you get this weird screen.

The screen begins by showing some weird statue and a continue count down. When you "continue" you can play as Norton (Jack Flak in Rival Turf!). There's not a whole lot to do here, you can destroy the statue (then a rat pops out). Sometimes a blue clone of Norton shows up.

  • I've seen that level on SNES. To get it I just had to move the cartdridge a bit while on the select screen. I dont know why was that. Anyway, do you have the save state? I've been trying to get that level on ZSNES.

  • I have a save state. PM me your e-mail address and I'll send it along.

  • i never woul've guessed..

  • This is an actual secret level in the game as well btw. I remember vaguely on stage four, when your in the second area you can go into one of the rooms if you killed a certain amount of enemies. I kid you not, this is true! However I cant remember the specifics of number of enemies needed to be killed, but its a legit way of getting to this stage!

Ah I see someone else has mentioned this to on the comments haha, glad am not the only one that knows about it!!

  • Omg this happened to me and I had no idea how it happened to me a few times when I was younger... Good times

  • Ha ha. I used to pull the cartridge out and this level would come up. I know you're not supposed to do that when the SNES is on but I was a kid. Don't remember how I learnt to do that.

  • Actually, I saw this by tilting the cartridge in the American version.

  • Wow shit, I never knew this. At least I know the bgm they didn't use now. Thanks!

  • 'DAMMIT: I could never get this trick to work, and I THOUGHT I followed all the instructions, so I'm el losto on this one :P '^_^
