This is a sample of me playing my Fender Baja Telecaster. I'm using the bridge (broadcaster style) pickup position and playing through a Marshall AVT 50 Valvestate 2000 amp, Voodoo Labs Sparkle Drive and an MXR Super Comp Compressor. The backing track and lick was provided by Doug Seven in his Playing in Circles DVD which I then edited down for this demonstration. If you are into this style guitar playing, look up Doug Seven on YouTube. He will teach you how to play! More of my music and demos at www.yearoftheriver.com.

  • nice playing, how do you find the super comp from mxr ??

  • The super comp really helps make the tone more punchier and cut through the band mix. I found I use it ALL the time. I purchased it mainly to get that Nashville sound, but I use it for everything and all styles of playing. I really like what it's done for my tone. If you play a single coil guitar...play on also purchasing a noise gate. I just purchased the MXR Smart Gate which works pretty good.

  • very nice playing, i love that tone

  • Thanks adorikun!

  • nice trebly tele sound. And this is the best tele for price after squier vibe.

  • There is a Telecaster Standard (MIM) option that's one below this one ($499US) but still higher quality then the Squire. The Baja is more on par price-wise with the Highway One (Made in USA) Telecaster Standard. But compared to them, the Baja is a way better guitar. Better pickups, fatter neck, vintage bridge, Better Mojo! Although I just noticed that the price for the Baja has jumped from $799 to $1109

  • great playing!

  • sounds like yu r useing the "neck "pickup.. not the bridge! next time try the "bridge !!

  • But baja tele is 589 euro (=880 dolar) in europe. Cheaper than USA. this is weird but not problem for me :)

i've bought strat version of this guitar in europe. that was cheaper in europe too.
