What about the 1200-1400 wolves that are TRAPPED in Alaska every year? Wheres the sympathy film for those wolves? Ten times as many wolves are taken every year by trapping as were killed in this aerial wolf hunt. Doesnt it make sense to try and stop the death of many as opposed to that of a few? Is trapping more humane? What about the wolves that are shot on the ground by hunters with a $50 wolf tag on their permit? Where is your outrage? AHHH I didnt say the magic word *PALIN*.

Subsistence hunting, fishing and trapping is a way of life for more than a third of Alaskans. Wolf numbers are reduced to increase moose/caribou numbers. Rural Alaskans consume about 375 lb of wild foods (fish and game) per person per year. Urban Alaskans consume about 22 lb. That's more than a lb per day for a third of the population. Alaskan's WILL continue to use predator control to increase prey numbers in areas that require it. If you want to have a say in how we run things, then move here.

programs in the lower 48 kill both wild and domestic animals. Gator, deer, coyotes etc are killed by fishing, shooting, hunting with dogs, and denning (taking the pups). Whether because they're strays, unwanted, or for population control, city programs and groups like PETA put down animals by the millions. If you really want to save God's creatures, why not start at the biggest slaughter house in town...your local animal shelter.
