Yungas Rainforest, Argentina — Jaguars are tree climbers, but there is no federal law to protecting their forest - so our activists have taken to the trees themselves. Dressed as jaguars, they're camped in the treetops of the Yungas in a bid to block the bulldozers until a federal law can be passed.

  • @FourofWands it is true that logging companys use logging as a means to sustain them selves however in many cases certin jobs have no production wood and it is chiped or slash burnt and then replanted with trees or farm land so no not always are logging jobs set up for cutting trees

  • @CarlLewenski that was a smart and well thought out comment

  • @FourofWands if the goverment was paying me to log then im getting run over beacuse the logging industy is in a fast fall lots of companys went under this year due to the ecomony

  • im wondering that first part was just a bunch of brush and random weed trees that whre being cleared for planting or farming what does that have to do with logging in the mountains where there people are sitting there are huge differences in what this video is saying and i think its wrong to say one thing and infulance an idea on a lie

  • they aren't clearing it for use. destroying rainforests is always for the trees for paper and wood products, etc. it's a logging business that usually does it, and the government that arranges deals with the logging companies. there are more logging roads in the United States NATIONAL PARKS than there are highways in the U.S., for example, and the U.S. government gives the loggers such a great deal the gov. is basically PAYING loggers to take down trees. it's quite "funny"

  • Well done. Nice action . Nice group of trees. How did they set the lines? Bow and arrow?

  • And one more thing: What makes you people think that just because there are 8 or 9 of you in a couple of trees in a forest that chainsaws and bulldozers aren't just going to go around you???

  • The question I have that this video doesn't address is who wants to cut down some trees and why?

Land is often cleared so that cattle can graze, homes can be built and farms can be constructed.

Now, if they wanted to clear the land for a Wal-Mart or a shopping mall, I'd have a problem with that. Being in Argentina, the land is most likely going to be used to help people through food and housing.

  • When are these idiots going to wake up? They are clearing the rainforest to grow biofuel crops like sugar cane. The trees are in the way of saving the planet!

  • I like to walk outside with 2 or 3 aerosol cans and just spray them into the ozone.

    :))
