A try at explaining how the toy works. The flipping block is cut out so that it will rotate on the rungs and as it slides down the flat sides of the rungs guide it onto the next rung. The rungs are rounded top and bottom with flat sides.

  • @stevinmarin Ok, I'll add this one too.

    On mine, the block is guided onto the rung below by the flat sides of the rung above and it cannot fall out. In fact, it's impossible (without breaking it) to get the block out from between the rungs once it starts flipping.

  • @jpheisz Aah, so the groove in the block is only a bit wider than the thickness of the rungs? No wonder you need to use flat rungs. Clever!
