  • @jeffmoto72 That means we are overdue for another Yellowstone eruption. The last one was about 650,000 years ago, and they have 600,000 year cycles. wow

  • Yellowstone erupts about every 600,000 years, thats about how long its been since the last event. Nothing to do with 2012. Still a very big threat though...Thanks for the video!

  • Sorry to hear that. I bumped into the video in December of 2008 and I have no idea whether or not I used key words to find it or it was a vid that automatically came up after the vid I was watching was over. I'm always scouring Google for quake videos and I have not run into it since then. I'll look for it and when I should bump into it, I will send you the link.

Thank you for the thoughtful words.

All seems to be pretty quiet, for now.

  • No the data isn't condensed I am sorry to say. I wish it was though. Could you also direct me to this geologist you used as a source please? I cant seem to find any detailed data from the GPS other then what is provided by the YVO. If you have any please share your info... Thanks :). I do think however that even though we disagree you do put together very intelligent information.

  • It was from a geologist being interviewed posted on YouTube talking about Yellowstone. He was talking about how the lengths of swarms have been getting longer in recent years, with the duration of a single quake lasting longer than in some previous years. After your post I went and checked, but I simply did not have the time to study years of data. If the data is already condensed in a report, please send us the link.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Well I would like to see what data you are looking at my friend. I compared the 3 previous years worth of activity, and there is no worsening trend. I also see no increased activity in any of the GPS data. I also respect how you, and I have kept this debate very civil. I respect you for that, but again disagree with the conclusions you have come to concerning the data you have shown me, and which I have also been comparing.

  • Have you also taken into consideration the GPS up shift data of Yellowstone? That also shows .... well.... Nothing exciting.

  • It takes millions of years to pass through the galactic equator...go read a book. Also if all you have to do is try to fear monger then you are replying to the wrong person. Furthermore if all you can do is point out 2 quakes in Yellowstone, and point to that as evidence of a coming eruption then I feel sorry for you. Yellowstone always has quakes there has been no abnormal activity to suggest any such activity will lead to an eruption.

  • There is a narrow sweet spot in the center of the Milky Way just like that of our sun which aligns our planets on a single plain. That's what we are starting to enter. NASA also forecasts high solar activity as we pass through the sweet spot.

Yellowstone is anything but back to normal as the park is seeing quakes that continue to rattle the park. 2 more just came in on:

    2010 January 24 17:21:25 UTC

    2010 January 24 14:32:22 UTC

and the quakes keep coming 8 days later. Do your homework.

  • As we enter the center of the gravitational plain of the Milky Way in late 2012, ......

Even if the Earth was "which it is not" It takes millions of years to pass through. Yellowstone is back to its usual activity, and has been for months now.

    Have a nice day.
