Hunted (Chapter 4)

(Reagan Levitt's POV)

Cole took me up to a room with him.

"You can watch whatever you want." He decided as we both got on to the bed. He yawned and when he did, I could see his fangs.

The moment I saw his fangs I realized how much trouble I was in. In a few short hours, my life would be over. It would end in the mouth of a total stranger. I started crying.

He leaned over and hugged me.

"Hey, look, I'm sorry. Really, this has got to suck for you... literally." He chuckled. I started crying a little harder.

"Ok, that was mean. I'm sorry." He hugged me again and gave me a kiss on the forehead. He wiped a tear away from my eye.

"Please, if you would just let my friends and I go, we wouldn't tell anyone." I begged.

"I wish. Good luck telling the other guys that." He rolled his eyes.

"But you're not one of the other guys, so you could just let me go!" I pleaded.

"Just calm down." He said. "I was like this when I was turned, too."

I sat down on the bed and let a small gulp form.

"Yeah, Terrence turned me. I had my girlfriend over, and I walked in to the kitchen to find her sucked entirely dry by Terrence. The moment he saw me, of course, he bit me. But instead of killing me, he drew back. He didn't like how I tasted in his mouth. Probably because I had diabetes at the time." He explained.

"Diabetes? You?" I said, disbelieving. He was in really good shape...

"I was... squishier... when I was a human." He giggled. I giggled too.

"Wow, you have the cutest laugh ever." He said.

"Thanks." I blushed. "You have the cutest smile ever."

"You're just saying that because I gave you a compliment." He chuckled, rolling his eyes.

"No, really, you're kind of adorable." I winked.

"You're very cute too." He smiled, then he returned my wink. "Let's just say I could just eat you up."

He accompanied that last part by using his finger to trace a line going down my neck and circling the bottom corner of it.

"Yeah." He continued, sighing. "You girls really do look rather yummy. And your delicious perfume doesn't help."

"You're making me uncomfortable" I shook, now scared.

"Sorry, but it's true." He said. "I don't want to be cruel, but it's very hard to resist taking a bite out of somebody like you."

I immediately jumped up from the bed and backed away.

"Just come back when you're calmed down." Was all he said, he rolled his eyes. He flipped on the TV and I cautiously made my way in to the bed again. After a quiet hour of watching TV he turned it off.

"Well, I'm tired." He yawned. He kissed my cheek. "Goodnight. And try not to toss around too much... you could damage your neck."

With that, he kissed my neck.

"Stop." I said.

"I'm just getting ready to take what's mine." He said defensively.

"My neck is not yours." I said through clenched teeth.

"Well, tomorrow night it will be." He smiled. Then we fell asleep.
