There was nothing on tv tonight so I turned on the video camera, jumped on the keyboard and made a beat in the bedroom.

You can hear the finished beat at:

  • this beat is tight hey vins have u tryed fl studio 9 yeet? iam thanking about getin it!!!

  • @young21able

Thanks. I haven't tried FL Studio 9 yet. I'm still on 8. I am sure 9 is cool too though.

  • Thanks for the tips, I'm wondering... I see you have a MPC. Is it wise to invest in one or get the cheaper MPD midi controller and use the FPC instead? Since you use FL Studio and a MPC. Thanks again.

  • @schcon

I sold my MPC. I use an Open Labs NeKo LX5 now. Anyway, yeah getting an MPD and using it with the FPC is a great option! I highly recommend it. The FPC is very powerful once you learn how to use it.

  • Can you do a hiphop chord\melody tutorial or point me in a direction? I cant seem to get anything to sound like that feel... What did you learn and what rules or techniques, etc. I have FL and I can seem to make anything close to that level.. HELP!

    Thanks!

  • @schocon

I've been making music since the 70s. That's the key. You have to keep doing it over and over and over. Practice, practice and more practice. The more you do it, the better you become in time. That's really the only real advice I can give on this subject.
