  • I would poop a watermelon for the sheet music for this. I love this song.

  • Magnificent Piece ' Structure in Emotion '

    FEELINGS.... DISINTEGRATE... FOR ME...

  • I simply, cannot, get enough of this music. One day - I will see them live! Come to Africa!

  • @DangerDancer69 Aha! Thats true the harmonic pallette is also simpler, it reminds me in some ways to latin jazz because the montunos arpeggiate and the chords are also simple triadic chords or dominant 7ths. However progressive cuban musicians (timba) are moving different harmonies into that approach, which creates an effect similar to avishai cohen's music, the harmonic feeling is very refreshing.

  • @PlatypusofCalifornia, you have a good point but its not the arpeggios that make the chords so clear its the fact that most of the chords are triads (mostly major or minor). There aren't many 7ths let alone the many other extensions most jazz piano players use. Just guessing now, but it could be because he writes a lot of the piano parts and was not familiar with common jazz voicings/ but it is more likely that he just writes what he wants to hear and this is the crazy shit he comes up with.

  • what an interesting song this is

  • I wouldn't be surprised if that was one take.

  • I dig so much how avishai cohen structures his compositions, especially the piano. Instead of the jabbing chords you usually find in jazz there is so many arpeggios moving everywhere...definately think this is going to be a major direction in jazz in the future. It makes the whole thing open up and bloom, despite the complexities of time you always have this warm ornamental feeling because of all of the arpeggios

  • i actually have a photo with him. i feel so lucky

  • @colonbaker nope, i cross checked with the album, it's emotion
