Because it's not the punchline that matters here but the whole thing and the use of language.

@podzhog Indeed; Adept use of language is regarded as an Irish virtue. I remember reading Malachy McCourt describing a very negative review of the stage play he co-produced with his brother Frank...and how it was so well written they posted it verbatim for theater-goers to read, so much did they admire the use of language, regardless of the content. Dylan's stand-up work is very impressive in precisely this way.

@smudgypalms Dylan Moran is a comedy writer for the BBC, lately working on the IT Crowd...

In case anyone is wondering, and they may well be, the music is from the first movement of Beethoven's first Symphony, which is a play on Bernard's middle name, Ludwig. Because, as any fan of the show knows, he looks like Ludwig Van B.

I'm fairly sure it's Peter Serofinowicz, as he'd been involved in Black Books before and it just sounds more like him.

@huckleberryfishpop More like Matt Berry though :)

Sounds like Matt Berry.
Why has Dylan not published a book D: I would read it until it was in tatters..and then probably get drunk and eat the tatters to absorb his genius.
