@gement Our thought behind it is that when someone who is seen/read as cis-female defines as genderqueer, it is sometimes not taken seriously. It is sometimes seen as if femmeness = femaleness. Femmes who are read as "female" and who want to use the pronoun they, have a harder time getting respected for that than those who have another gender presentation.

Good stuff! One question: what's the baggage on "I'm genderqueer"? As someone who identifies as genderqueer, if people are somehow using it to be jerks to femmes, I'd like to know how to spot it to speak up about it.
