Oddly this video helps me get back to a beret made of mercerized thread which I started many decades ago (but still want it done for my daughter). It is supposed to have a huge lacy flower on top and chains webbing to fill the rest to the thin rim. Beret lays flat like a pancake, opening rim of 23", diam. when flat about 12", looks a bit french.., slightly starched would be good. Can you help me? Thanks, Teresa, for reading me.

Your pronunciation is correct. It means Brussels in Belgium. There is a funny movie with Colin Ferrrell and Dennis Gleason called "In Bruges" judy

Hi, Teresa! I have JUST discovered your tutorials and I cannot begin telling you how much I like them! Nice, slow, lots of repetitions, it is almost like drilling it into our heads. But I am writing you this note to tell you that you pronounced the name "Bruges" correctly (more or less like 'brew-dges'). It is a town in Belgium, about an hour or so by train away from Antwerp, famous for the lacework that the ladies do. I made notes of lots of your tips, they are awesome!

whats the size of your crochet needle

@ilovemusicakasaby I would have been using around a size 5-7 steel crochet hook. This is a different sizing then the aluminum hooks.

Hi Teresa....I don't like the number 6 so with that being said can I substitute it with 7 for this pattern?
