Iran Persian Calligraphy

Iranian calligraphy (known by Iranians) or Persian calligraphy (known by Western countries) is an art work on paper, combined with painting, or a book illustration, wall painting, on carpet or a separate art work with root in Persian poetry in Iran.

Persian calligraphy is considered to be one of the most eye catching and fascinating manifestations of Persian culture. The history of calligraphy in Iran dates back to 3th millennium BC mostly seen in Jiroft Civilization (Kerman province of Iran) ,and also several calligraphy on stone dated back to 550 BC during Achamenid dynasty which beautiful and clear writings were always praised.

The alphabet of Persian language has changed 4 times during history from Nail alphabet to Avestan, Pahlavi and the current one which is simply known as three stages of Old Persian, Middle Persian and Modern Persian.

Six main genres of Iranian calligraphy were invented during history "Tahqiq", "Reyhan", "Sols", "Naskh" and "Toqih" and "Reqah". These genres were common for four centuries. Later a new genre of Persian calligraphy was invented and named "Ta'liq", and also contemporary artists combined with painting.

To name few of artists:
Ahmad Neyrizi, Hossein Mirkhani, Ali Akbar Kaveh, Ebrahim Bouzari, Hassan Mirkhani, Mehdi Baiani. Zendeh Roudi, Jalil Rasouli, Parviz Tanavoli (also calligraphy as sculpture).

Fashion designers Nima Behnoud and Masih Zad use Persian calligraphy and poetry in dress designing.

We may be using the Arabic alphabet, but we are the ones who made it beautiful to look at. Even so, I wish we had kept using the Pahlavi script. Ignorant Arabs keep claiming that they taught us to write, just because we currently use their script, even though we have had three scripts prior to the Perso-Arabic script.

@tantzer به هر حال در گذشته در آثار زیبای خوشنویسان ایرانی همیشه مثلا یک غزل یا قصیده کامل یک شاعر یا متفکر ایرانی را می دیدیم که در نهایت زیبایی به رشته تحریر در آمده و ضمن جذب بصری بیننده پیام آن متفکر ایرانی و اندیشه او را به بیننده منتقل میکرد. زیبایی اثر باعث می شد که بیننده مسحور شده و تا انتهای اثر را با اشتهای کامل بخواند و به این ترتیب پیام و اندیشه ایرانی را نیز دریابد. اما در آثار خوشنویسی امروز ایران دیگر از آن روش خبری نیست که به نظر من عمدی هم هست و هدفش حذف تدریجی فکر ایرانی است

@tantzer و بیشتر دستوراتی اخلاقی در آن وجود دارد و هشدار و حذر و ... هیچ جا در قران آنچنان تشریح و توصیفات عمیق عرفانی که مثلا در آثار مولوی هست دیده نمی شود و تقلیل کار مولوی به آنچه در قران وجود دارد به نظر من ظلم به مولوی است که تقریبا همه آنچه در آثارش آورده است عرفان ایرانی است که ریشه آن به قرن ها قبل از اسلام بر می گردد و البته از قران هم برای تزیین آن استفاده کرده است

@tantzer این نظر شماست که به نظر من اشتباه هم هست. باید توجه داشته باشی که در زمان حافظ و سعدی و مولوی و دیگر متفکران ایرانی این عرب های مسلمان بودند که بر ایران حاکم بودند و طبیعتا ایرانی ها هرچه می خواستند بنویسند و بگویند باید در چارچوب مورد نظر و علاقه آنها می نوستند و می گفتند وگرنه نه تنها اجازه انتشار آثار آنها را نمی دادند بلکه خود آنها را هم با تکفیر از بین می بردند. اگر قران را خوب بخوانید می بینید که در آن مضامین عرفانی عمیقی وجود ندارد

با تکریم قرآن آمیخته است

@HashRash87 Dear friend, there is no reason for you to be racist against Arabs. You say it was the Persians who made the Arabic script beautiful. Obviously you haven't seen Kufic calligraphy or Moroccan calligraphy. No culture is superior to any other.

خیانت آخوندها و عوامل آنها به هنر ایرانی را از خوشنویسی معاصر ایران هم می شود دریافت. در گذشته خوشنویسان ایران تلاششان ترویج ادبیات و فرهنگ ایران از راه هنر خوشنویسی بود اما امروز می بینیم که خوشنویسان دوران ج. اسلامی فقط به جنبه زیبایی بصری هنر خوشنویسی تاکید دارند و دیگر اثری از ترویج و گسترش فرهنگ و ادب ایران در میان نیست. گرچه کار این خوشنویسان جدید از زیبایی بهره کافی برده است اما در تابلوهای آنها دیگر اثری از حافظ و سعدی و مولوی و ... نیست
