To get this point straight, this is the required test to fulfill the safety norm required. Its done to avoid injury in case of an accident, not to protect people who try to cut their feet off.

kinda stupid test...looks like they spent all this money on equipment when all you really need is a boot a chainsaw and a stump to sit it on..and in reality if the chainsaw does find your boot it will most likely bounce down or up cause of the steel cap boot which could lead to it still cutting your foot :/

Here's the thing... All of this safety equipment is great and wonderful. Regardless of that fact, inattentiveness will get your foot/arm/leg/dick cut off regardless of whether you're wearing "Chainsaw boots," chaps, and the rest of all this expensive safety, "stuff." You can be just as safe with no shirt, a pair of shorts, and tennis shoes. You just have to pay attention to what the hell you're doing.
