"Corăgheasca" performed by Ilie Cazacu (reeds / "fluier") & Constantin Șuiu (folk lute / "cobză"). Romanian traditional folk song from Moldova, Bucovina area, Fundu Moldovei village version.

*******
Name of the dance style comes from the word "ship" etymology (Moldavian regionalism "coraghie"). Initially it was a sailors dance, later becoming a virtuosity dance especially for men. This dance is accompanied by rhythmic shouts ("strigături"), yelled commands while making synchronized steps which might send to the analogy of the sailors' commands. Obviously it has an increasing tempo alongside music & dance streamline.
