Nicholas did his first triathlon in Loma Linda, CA on April 26th, 2009. Out of hundreds of kids who signed up, he was the only kid with a wheelchair and a handcycle. He had so much fun that both he and his brother want to do it again next year. Nick has spina bifida but doesn't let it slow him down, obviously. His handcycle is an Intrepid Tourer (http://www.intrepidequipment.com) and his wheelchair is a Razor Blade Jr. model from Colours 'N Motion (http://www.colourswheelchair.com/). The triathlon is put on by PossAbilities, a community outreach program of Loma Linda University Medical Center, East Campus (http://www.teampossabilities.org).
