This is a quick video demonstrating how to successfully replace a CPU fan/heat sink for HP laptop.
If you need manual for HP DV6xxx series,
visit this link:
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01120535.pdf

※Tip
To find out which part number for which particular
part you want to replace on your laptop, for instance,
HP provides specific information, so just go to the link below:

http://h20141.www2.hp.com/Hpparts/part_search.aspx?mscssid=0606481E52AB41BB8C...

then type in S/N or P/N of your laptop which is
usually located on the bottom of a laptop.

※For HP DV6500CTO or any DV6xxx models
P/N: 446521-001 is the one
if your model has UMA graphic chip(not discreted)

P/N: 450933-001 is the right one
if your model has discrete or integrated graphics
(my laptop has GForce 8400m gs and this is the right one)

it doesn't matter whether it has Intel or AMD chips.
※please note that part number isn't always accurate, so i recommend you
to visit HP website(link above) and find out proper p/n for you laptop.

feel free to leave me a comment^-^
i will gladly respond to your comment.
good luck~
