The idea behind the Panorama solution is to express the overall 'mood' of evolving, complex data (such as the development of the stock market) in rendered 3D animations that can be perceived and interpreted with little cognitive effort. The software application maps variables of a data set (e.g. share prices, major stock indexes, volatility indexes, overall trading intensity or any other real-time data) to graphic parameters influencing a proprietary 3D climate. BASHIBA offers companies the possibility to have virtual windows on a beautiful landscape that reacts in real-time to company data changes. Developments of the stock market, for instance, become perceivable by cloud transformations, size and speed of ocean waves, amount and size of snow flakes, wind and sun strength, to name a few. The result is a beautiful, developing scene in which observers (e.g. traders) can monitor several streams of background information without effort using their peripheral vision. Whenever this background information signals particular relevance in a given context, it moves to the observer's foreground attention (Bloomberg or Reuters terminals in the case of traders).

  • In this video waves, cloud concentration, wind strength and amount of snow particles were all linked to changes in the stock market index... In the beginninng of this video you can see the Nasdaq climate (index was positive by a couple of points) then we moved to the Tokyo Nikkei (bad day for the stockmarket in Japan)... then the SSE Composite Shanghai... Milan Mibtel (positive day) and so on....

  • What data is being used for the waves? Is this working off of the US stock market DOW?
