The great gothic cathedral in Cologne (Köln), Germany, was commenced in the 13th century, and was not finished until 600 (!) years later, in the 19th century. During the whole building period, the builders stuck to the original medieval drawings that miraculously survived throughout the centuries. The cathedral has neither the tallest spires in the world (the cathedral in Ulm has a taller spire), nor the highest internal room, but it is certainly one of the most impressive and majestic cathedrals, not the least because of its massive twin spires. This video, one of two, was shot with digital photo camera, at 1:30 pm on June 13, 2009.
