911 Song - United We'll Stand

My husband (Pete DuBarry) and I wrote a song entitled "United We'll Stand", a few days after 9/11 when the nation was still in shock over this tragic event. Pete could not sleep, disturbed by the horrific images he saw in the news. He stayed up all night and the words just poured out of him. The following morning, he gave me the lyrics to read and immediately I said to him, I have performed many great songs with great lyrics, and these words so perfectly described that tragic day. I spent the next two days in my music room and came up with the music for this song. Pete and I are not songwriters. In fact, this is the only song that we have written. This is how our 9/11 song, "United We'll Stand", was created. We want it to be a source of hope and encouragement to all Americans and a tribute to the heroes of that day.
