Why oh why didn't she let her full intellect shine? She was a smart cookie and she never let herself shine. I think she wanted to be strong and have a love but she let men tell her what to do all the time. I wish she'd shown them her brains instead of her body and external beauty. I bet she would have loved this tribute... <3

If you were able to of gotten drugged and raped by Frank Sinatra and his friends you must of done something right.
The Norma Jean in the song is Norma Jeane Mortenson/Baker, who was transformed by Hollywood to the Marilyn Monroe, also mentioned in the song. The song came out in 1973, 11 years after Marilyn's death. The lyrics were written by Bernie Taupin, music by Sir Elton. Sir Elton rewrote the lyrics for the song in 1997 in tribute to Lady Diana. I really wish people would cultivate some sense of history.

Was that a joke? Seeming as it was written years before Diana even died...
Not to mention the lyrics directly mention Marilyn Monroe and her actual name (Norma).
Thats a fact.
