Cody Gross dove in from one yard out with just ten seconds left to give North Alabama a dramatic 41-34 win over Indiana, Pa., giving the Lions the first of what would be three straight national titles. The Indians had tied the game on a 34-yard field goal with just 45 seconds left, but UNA came back and went 69 yards in six plays to win the game. UNA led 14-3 early but had to rally from a 24-14 fourth quarter deficit. The game turned when Israel Raybon blocked an IUP punt and ignited a 27-point fourth quarter scoring binge. Brian Satterfield led UNA with 180 yards rushing and two touchdowns. A crowd of more than 15,000 swarmed the field after the game as North Alabama became the first school to win the DII football title on its home field.
