This game is Canned for the most unlikely reasons.
Many games get canned because of development problems, sadly this game was canned because of bad luck and bad timing with 9/11.
I feel sorry for the people who worked so hard on developing this game.

yes, I already downloaded! great game! also exist a Microsoft's equivlant called Crimson Skies, but the quality is shitty, Propeller Arena is slayer better.

@dreamcastjunkyard It could of the Online never really caught on. If it had a community as solid as Xbox live in the start it would not have lost the war. If it had memberships, I don't see how anyone could go bankrupted with the money Xbox Live brings in.

@horokeusensei Big deal if GTA2 was on the DC. That didn't help. GTA didn't get big until GTA III, and then huge with Vice City onwards

But I think it was a combination of things, lack of a DVD drive, lack of third party support, fanboys holding out for the PS2 Etc.

Sadly I doubt it. The Dreamcast had dozens of great original games, but because it didn't have Fifa, GTA or metal Gear Solid it couldn't come close to the PS2's popularity.

It was completed, but they decided not to release it because they didn't want people to re-create the 9/11 on one of the levels in it. The game later got leaked by a fan who got their hands on a GD-R of it.
