Are grades for autistic children a measure of their ability, or a measure of their disability? Would it be better to accept the reality that some deficits will persist and focus more where people with autism can excel?

  • Excellent video. Please try to keep in the back of your mind that this will pass and these things are not as important as one might think. I had mainly "U" (unsatisfactory) grades until about the 6th grade. I repeated a grade in elementary because of "behavior" problems. You have the right outlook and I think you are right in your path. I was diagnosed with AS in adulthood, but as a child I was thought to be retarded for some of the same reasons outlined in your video.

  • This is all very familiar, I feel like I'm listening to myself.
