She is a legend as a singer. It was a first for a woman to dance bhangra in those days. The dholi is superb. For More mind boggling dhol beats check out 'dhol rawalpindi,by zafar m.m'. and puppu sain

Dont know who the dancer is - or care. But I am glad that I got to see this video if Jogi ji. I've heard an audio of him where he plays things I've never heard a dhol player do.
Ustad lal singh bhatti ji would say that Jogi ji would hardly ever play 'simple dhol' because he loved more classical/sufi style of playing and that many people didnt get that. If you guys like this, check out Pappu sain's stuff too.

The dancer is the late great Jagmohan Kaur - legendary Punjabi singer-do check her out-you might be pleasantly surprised - best I've ever seen - her stage presence was magnificent.
In this video she attempted to bring forward women into the respected side of the art, not done before in 1970's when this was recorded.
I see you enjoy good dhol music - I would also recommend 'Ravi Dana' on youtube. Absolute magician, in my humble view. Hope you will enjoy as much as I have.

The 'girl' as you call her is the late Jagmohan Kaur. Legendary in promoting Punjabi music-do check out her music-you might be pleasantly surprised - best I've ever seen.
This was her attempt to bring forward women into the respected side of art, not done before in 1970's-& respected by many for this
Hope the performance makes more sense with this context.
By the way the dholi is the legendary Harbans Lal Jogi (ask anyone who know about dhol players and they will tell you about him).
