  • Shigaraki is very simple and trouble free. Not ultra high in resolution but good enough for most kind of music. I use it to drive my Westminster, Quad 57 and 3/5am to reasonable sound pressure in my room.

  • Nice combo. Any probs driving the 57s with the 47 labs?

  • @adidaskoln

Thanks! Personally, I like the combination. Nothing fancy but enjoyable and musical!

  • It is called A City of Sadness, soundtrack music by Sens

  • Yes, they are TWR!

    Thanks for watching.

  • The westminsters look amazing. I can only imagine the sound with the 47 labs. Seems an ideal match to me. My old tannoys produced a vast soundstage. More so than the quads. The room im in isnt big enough to let the 57s do their thing. Nice clear open sound tho. Ill add the 47 labs to my list of options. Thanks

  • Even online its a very open sound! Im having probs finding suitable amps to drive my 57s. I fancy a modern transistor design. Ive tried a cyrus one, michell alectos and a Linn lk280. Results were nothing to write home about to be honest. Best results by far were with concordant quad II's ,however they were expensive to run. Ive looked at 47 labs. I like how they keep the component count and signal lengths ultra short. 47 labs state a stable 4ohm load tho? any thoughts or suggestions? Cheers

  • ''And this peice is called 'Dropping Lots of Instruments Down the Stairs Slowly''.

  • 57's has its strengths like cleaner sound and snap but lacks the detail and tends to really restrict the sweet spot for the listener.63 offer a more real soundstage on the width, height and goes deeper than the 57's.Forget about the 988 though even though its stiffer and goes deeper it lacks the soul of the founder of Quad.

  • If all is correct these esl-57's "disappear" in the sound. You are only left with clean magical music, witch will not fatigue.

    Excelent setup!

  • What is the music please?

I have a pair of Quad 63's but my earlier restored 57's were way clearer - I do miss them!!
