  • Why take it apart under water? Is it for lead or does it make it eaiser.

    Disassembling a panel can be tricky and creates stress on the glass. (especially at the solder joints) Full restoration is about saving every piece you can. Soaking the panel for a few days in water softens the lead and also helps to break down the glazing that holds each piece in place. A panel can be disassembled in the dry but you run the risk of more glass breakage. -A
