This is a montage of our trip to New York, October 2006. I treated myself after finally graduating from university.
It was a great trip with many highlights. It was a bit cold though, with gusts of 35 mph.
We went to MoMA, the Museum of Modern Arts. My dear friend Reineke recommended it, as it houses some of the most famous works of art by Van Gogh, Picasso, Warhol, Lichtenstein, Dali and Mondriaan.
For a drink we went to a bear meeting at the Dugout. Our hotel was located on Broadway, upper west side, conveniently near a subway station.
A walk took us along the following: the Puck Building (home to Grace Adler Designs), Little Italy, Chinatown, Manhattan Bridge, Brooklyn Bridge, Pier 17. There I started my elongated pennies collection, my favourite souvenir. Times Square by night, then by day.
A must see was the Flat Iron building, as it is one of Stefan's favourites. I had a lovely reunion with Johnathan, who was my neighbour during my year at Trinity College Dublin 98-99. He and Tim were ever so kind to us, giving a freezing Stefan a sweater and treating us to dinner at a restaurant. It was wonderful to see Johnathan again after all those years.
