  • Absolutely incredible. Why was Aaron Tviet not nominated? He should have won it!

  • You can kind of tell they aren't used to a high-budget, big stage. Alice is brilliant, but she isn't very deliberate in her movement.

  • My stomach does flips every time I watch this. Its so powerful!

  • @ccooper23 Singing hard songs with a almost impossible to do acting and through out going from happy to sad to crazy sometimes in one song you have to win a tony.

  • @esbohorquez It cut off lol. She could just be interacting with the Gabe that she see, and Dan's mind is hallucinating him in the spot that makes sense. Just an idea.

  • I have a theory about this song. SPOILER ALERT to anyone who hasn't seen the ending. In I Am the One Reprise, Dan and Gabe are both wearing red, and you find out the Dan has been seeing a hallucination of Gabe as well. I think that's what's going on in this song as well. We the audience think that it's Diane's Gabe we see, but what if we're seeing Dan's Gabe that he's ignoring (and the matching shirt colors is a clue). Diane does interact with him, but she could just be interacting with the G

  • i love alice ripley's voice. aarontveit was robbed of a nomination in my mind and the dad, not sure his name, is amazing.

  • @Velociactor well it did win best actress and was one of only eight musicals ever to win the pulitzer prize for best drama, so i think that evens it out. Billy Elliot also appeals to the masses and ultimately is a happier story, and Next to Normal on the other hand is darker and less happy. Both do however deal with pretty contemporary subscts and were really the only two musicals the were in line to win best musical, shrek and rock of ages didnt stand a chance. but i like both equally.

  • When the first chords of I Am the One come on I just get this extremely excited feeling - fantastic music through and through

  • aaron's face at 5:42.

    mmf. take me now.

  • @Velociactor i have a good friend who was in Billy Elliot! And I still agree with you...
