Just because someone does something for 40 yrs. doesn't make them good at it. Times change and it is a sign that you r not as good as you think when you can't change with them.

We call it stick or whip. Never heard rattan before

Get two stacks of chips and practice with them everywhere. To deal craps you need to be equally good at drop cutting with both hands. Most dice dealers favor one hand.

Awesome, Classy guy!!!!! I bet he was a great stickman. Thanks for teaching us some of the moves

drop cutting comes with practice.. using your index finger as a gauge you can after practicing drop a certain amount of checks off the bottom of the stack. Practice practice practice...

Any suggestions on a drop cutting video or do you have one?

Im new at this and was begged to takes the class causr they said I had wonderful hands but the class was only 4weeks and didn't get to deal it tool a year later. I love the game but feel like I'm killing it causr my procedures are off I'm always watching videos because the whole reason I love craps in the first place was because the adhesions dealers mage it look so fun, easy, and clean. and they sure have a great talent. I need a drop cutting video!

Ty it was very helpful. I was not taught this in craps class.
I remember when a break in spent six months shilliing a game till he knew the stick calls and the payoffs for all the prop bets, then he was able to go on the stick so long as he didn't screw up and then spent months on the stick till he got the base operation down.. they turned out some really fine artists back then.

First of all when the dice are not in the middle of the table your eyes should be on them. When they are in the middle of the table you should be watching your end, which ever end the dice land on is the stick mans end to watch. Check out dice dealers .com for more on dealing

You must not have read what I said. I am retired after dealing for forty years, I was working at the Horseshoe when it was closed down and all the dealers there had to be top notch. Thank you very much for your responses and I wish you good luck in your career.
