Sharon Tate (1943-1969) and Dorothy Stratten (1960-1980), were two beautiful, talented and well-liked up-and-coming young actresses whose lives were tragically and brutally taken from this world same month, 11 years and five days apart. They had much in common, and projected a similar innocence and sophistication onscreen, while offscreen they remained unaffected, shy, and kind girls who impressed and deeply affected those they met. When you hear someone describe either woman, you'll find that the qualities attributed to them are almost identical in terms of inner and outer beauty, a love of animals, and intelligence that went beyond the blonde stereotype that still prevades in Hollywood today. I put together some great photos of Sharon and Dorothy, to a rendition of "Songbird" by Eva Cassidy (1963-1996), another talented and gifted young artist who graced this earth very briefly. Although all three of these lovely young women were destined to only be on this plane for a short time, this does not deter from the wonderful gifts that they shared with us when they were here. Enjoy.

  • Did charles manson kill Dorthy Stratten too? I mean no disrespect I was just asking because I don't know. This was a beautiful tribute though.

  • @Diamondgruff , Dorothy was murdered by her estranged husband, Paul Snider, who then killed himself.

  • Yep, I did, I will definately check it out, bella! Thanks!

  • There was no party. Sharon wanted everything to be as quiet as possible. She was doing everything possible to ensure the safe arrival of her son.

Sharon had spoken to her younger sister Debra earlier that afternoon. Debra had wanted to come over, but Sharon refused because she was hot and tired.

Sharon did rest enough to go out with Jay Sebring and the other housemates to El Coyote, a nearby restaurant for dinner. They ate and returned to Cielo Drive. No party took place.

  • They both are beautiful, but tragically taken away:(.RIP.

  • @Muirmaiden Oh ok thank you I just wondered because i never heard of Manson being behind that one but I just didn't know.

  • This is not even close from my Era but I absolutely loved Sharon Tate because Of my mom and when I was a little girl I thought she was sooo beautiful. I don't know much about the other girl sadly but she looks very beautiful as well.

  • Thank-you! I have a TRIBUTE WALL to Dorothy, Sharon, Gia Carangi, Farrah Fawcett & my friend Margaux Hemingway. All are TIMELESS BEAUTIES gone too soon.

  • Happy Birhtday Sharon!!

  • 2 of the most beautiful women of all time! It would be impossible to say one is more beautiful than the other, they were in a class by themselves. Hard to believe that Dorothy would have turned 50 this year, and that Sharon would be 67. Taken away far too early, the world is a little less beautiful without them. RIP.

    Beautiful tribute. Thanx

  • Thanks for posting. I happen to be a huge fan of both. Both taken too soon. What might have been......

  • I love this both, thanks for posting!! God Bless you Dorothy and Sharon!!
