I always thought that I was french braiding my hair, apparently I was dutch braiding. Damn. Now to learn how to ACTUALLY french braid.

I'm Black and I'm from NYC I have never hear it called a Dutch. Where I come from we call it Corn rolls, or if its just 2 or 1 we call it dookie braids ( yes I know it sounds funny ). I also heard it called French Braids. I'm super confused, can someone please explain the diffrence between the 3 to me?

dookie braids is the same as dutch braids indeed.. the only difference is that it is verry much tighter then a dutch braid...
Dutch braids lay on the head, french are woven in the hair.. :)

Watched the video once, tried it, it worked! Thank you for an amazing braid tutorial :) and it was quick to do it too, usually I can't braid my own hair cause my arms get tired, but this one worked and I will do it all the time :) Thank you!

some people are stupid because u can tell the difference because the dutch braid is popped out whereas the a french braid is flat against the head. so ur right and they are wrong and dont listen to the stupid ppl who cant tell the difference and have got nothing better to fo than put stupid comments and this is the best tutorial i've seen
