And even though the New Testament Matthew 5:17 says that, it is still irrelevant to us because it wasn't referring to us in the first place.

I'll tell you where, many times in Lev. actually. "Speak unto the children of Israel...". When the Law was made it was dealing with pagan practices going on during those times. Also in Deuteronomy, God tells Moses, for Israel to obey in the land of Israel. Not us christians today. Does that answer your question?

@arbitor2007 I agree with you sir. That's what I've been trying to explain to the people here who misinterpreted the bible.

@jeffskid96 Your comment was removed, but just to answer it, no, tattoos are nothing like receiving the mark of the beast. You try to make it sound like we're stupid, I'm well aware of the mark, it will be a chip that people will insert in their hand or forehead. It will be said to store information but really just sold your soul to Satan. Getting a tattoo doesn't make me think that getting the mark of the beast will be "cool" too. Lost people will want the mark wheather they like tattoos or not

I'm a youth minister and I recently covered this with my youth. In the bible when it speaks of tatoos and piercings, it says in honoring the dead, also its old testament, A.K.A the Law when you were saved through sacrificing animals and not through the Grace of Jesus Christ as we are now, furthermore, the hair issue is aimed back at corinth, where most men with long hair were gay, and women with short or no hair were prostitutes. According to the old ways, a mans hair/ beard wasn't to be cut.

If you use tattoos to glorify yourself it is wrong. If you use tattoos to glorify God,there is nothing wrong about it.

@jeffskid96 By the way, who are you to say tattoos are disrespecting our bodies? What do you think people do inside their churches that are for God? They decorate. Tattoos are art. Yes we were bought with a price, but it is still OUR bodies, and we are using it as OUR way of acknowledging Him.

@jeffskid96 When it says that it is talking about our souls and how we live for Christ. God only cares what is inside. Haven't you ever heard of "don't judge a book by its cover"? The bible does not say tattoos are wrong. You cannot use Lev.19:28, I've already explained that. And if you want to go by that then know that you break that everyday.
You people are so ignorant. I am tired of having to explain it again. A few verses before saying no markings, it also says not to cut hair and not eat certain meats like pork, I'm sure you've broken those rules, so why attack tattoos? It's not referring to us when it says no markings, it's talking about the pagans when they cut themselves for the dead. In the New Testament Jesus said those statements don't apply to us. You're right, christians these days, you all make them look bad.

To Carlwarnberg and KrazyChild, people who get tattoos with intentions the way John Cooper did are NOT people who don't want to live the right way. People like YOU are the ones who take the Bible out of context and base it on what THINK is right. You would've been able to argue my last response with a legit comeback if that weren't true.
