The city of Tel Aviv is celebrating his 100th anniversary in 2009.
It was the first Hebrew city in Israel. 69 families from Yafo bought in 1909 land in the dunes of what became later Tel Aviv.
The plan was to build a Garden City but they never expected what would became out of it.
Dutch reporter Johan van Gelder interviewed mayor Ron Huldai in his office of the 12th floor of the city hall about this event.
He was assist by Ben Ami Ehrlich. (Part I). www.johanvangelder.nl

the area was inhabited for centuries before jews from russia, romania,... (without the asserted roots in the country) came at the end of the 19th century and build the jewish settlement of "tel aviv" (and many more across palestine). for zionists and their supporters the ethnic cleaning of the country from it's native population might be immaterial, for me it matters.

@SuperRomanul Since we're Jews and the Torah commands us not to commit murder, the Sanhedrin couldn't execute him, so assuming your scriptures are correct - they have decided to transfer him to the Romans, which they did. I'm sure the government of Romania would not send a man who tries to take Bucharest to the Hague for trial But would rather execute him on the spot.. we were more lenient with him, than what you would do today to him.
