http://www.killgruz.com/?p=192 Oh yes I did! I went to the trouble of typing in a game called Anti-Aircraft Gun on my newly acquired TI-99/4A from the 1980's book "The Best of 99'er"

  • Wait when you turn it off, would you have to start all over again on typing the codes, or, not or what?

  • @BlurDriver25 Yeah, the computer doesn't come with a hard drive or disk drive, so once you flip the off switch it's all gone forever! They did sell a program recorder that records your programs on cassette tape, but I haven't got one yet.

  • Can't you get a portable cassette recorder and use it's in jack to record to tape?

  • @Sanosuke004 It's a DB-9 to 3 - 3.5mm mono cables I believe. Something that I'll have to order, but yeah I think you can use any tape recorder.

  • Wow, what dedication! The TI is not the most fun keyboard to type on. That seems like an awful lot of typing just for a game like that, but it was cool to see. I actually like the blast (some sort of laser?) that comes from the jet passing over head. Maybe there are some shorter games to try next time. :) Great video!

  • @niceandgames Yeah next time I'm going to actually set this computer up on a desk, can't believe I started that project on the floor. lol. That laser was really brutal, the code was pretty well documented tho - it prefers to strike where you last shot, other than that it's random. Pretty accurate tho! The extended basic games are a lot shorter, so when I get my hands on that cart I'm definitely going to see what those are like.

  • That is amazing but I think I'll stick with the Mac terminal emacs game

  • Oh, ok. Thanks!

  • @jensworldrocks I think your grammar tells us who the real idiot is. Let me correct this for you: "Silly Billy, you got the beige one, they're for idiots." Don't be a jerk. Take an English class too, maybe then your insults might mean something.

  • silly billy you got the beige one there for idots

  • Reminds me of manually putting in AR codes (before I found out I could copy and paste the codes on the computer) for some cheap, neat things. Just, AR is newer...

  • @UKRetroGames lol, man that would be frustrating! I still haven't got the extended basic cart, hope to get it soon because I want to try typing in more games on this, and the extended basic games are really short. It's really hard to get myself to type in anything on this without the Program Recorder to save all that hard work on, lol. I guess that's another thing I need to look into getting my hands on.
