THE ATLAS EXPERIMENT

The finale to our live multi-media science-fiction event, performed at FLUMMOXED on Thursday 3rd July 2008.

A hugely complicated piece, involving a fake conspiracy documentary, using found footage about the LHC from YouTube; and live, real time CCTV images from inside a secret room at the venue, being vision mixed and presented as part of the film. At the end, you can see how we then had the actor emerge into the venue/amongst the audience - breaking the distinction between a "film" and a live event. The show also involved a very elaborate setup with fake publicity and posters etc which were loaded with subliminal messages, a whole team of audience plants who interacted with the audience covertly throughout the event, and a fake performance artist in a screened-off section of the venue...whose head explodes as the finale!
