Film by Mike Nichols (1967) based on a novel by Charles Webb
Song lyrics:
April come she will
When streams are ripe and swelled with rain;
May, she will stay,
Resting in my arms again
June, she´ll change her tune,
In restless walks she´ll prowl the night;
July, she will fly
And give no warning to her flight.
August, die she must,
The autumn winds blow chilly and cold;
September I´ll remember.
A love once new has now grown old.
@stitchesful Thanks for your thoughts, but actually, it's the opposite. The man who addresses Ben in the pool is trying to impose expectations on him that Ben doesn't share. He doesn't want to live someone else's life, he's happy just to drift. It's about the journey, not the destination.

@chrisharro That doesn't sound too good. Sorry if your comment is supposed to mean that your life hasn't been so great.

Beautiful combination of song and video culminating in that gorgeous moment when Ben climbs out of the pool and lands on Anne Bancroft in bed. Then he sums up my life when he says, "It's very comfortable just to drift here." Thanks for posting.
