My dog is a member of my family. He treats me as I treat my mother and little sister. He loves me unconditionally and will rip your head off if you try to hurt me. Shoot him and I shoot you, end of story.

just imagine how many innocent people and animals have suffered at the hands of police,,,without videos to back up there stories,,,,,,,,,,,fuckin cop should have served some jail time..........and lost his job

What the dog's intentions were is unclear to me. It was running at the officer at a full 'gallop' so may well have been intent on defending the property. We simply do not know. Therefore, the officer did not know either. He may have overreacted but I do not believe it was blatant or intended in this case.

I agree that a lot of people do that, but thenebben did not generalize. He/she only said that they all deal with the same things as mailmen, etc.. This is a factual statement rather than a generalization. And I agree that Chechnya is partially right. Many people are hyper-critical of police until they need one. But there is certainly a growing problem within law enforcement.

All of these things happen unfortunately. But to say that ALL of any group are one thing or another is simply ignorant (no offense.That is ignorant thinking, not that YOU are ignorant). There are simply too many different individuals with different personalities in that group to paint them all with such a broad brush. It HAS gotten ridiculous though how many truly are that way.

As a police officer, if a dog approaches me in a threatening manner...I will do the same....shoot to kill...not shoot to injure. Case Closed.
